Smart Scheduling

When I first started using social media marketing (back in 2019), I was totally bogged down by the busy work that was required to post regularly/semi-regularly and especially remembering to go to my social media accounts to remember to post them. Then I learned about Tailwind, the social media marketing app and website that allows you to bulk schedule social media posts. After enjoying the free trial, I eagerly purchased the first option for a paid plan. This became especially useful for sharing Pinterest pins too!

Tailwind’s smart scheduling tool allows me to set up certain parameters- such as how many times a day and week that I was to post, and in which hours of the day- and then the account automatically generates a schedule based on your social media profile’s activity. Tailwind Create

TailwindCreate is much like the programs Vista Create and Canva- except it’s in 1 account so you’re saving money!!!! With Tailwind Create, you upload a link from your blog post or website, select which photos from the blog post you want to use, and it will generate several social media post designs that are compatible for Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest. In another section of the account, you can also change your branding settings such as color palette, font and what branding information you want to add to your post such as using “Katherine MC Johnson, Freelance Writer” or katherinemcjohnson.com at the bottom of any chosen posts.

I like using Tailwind Create for my Pinterest account the most. It makes my designs- especially for my recipe posts on The Tiny Twenty-Something- so clean, crisp and beautiful. You can also save favorite designs so that you don’t need to constantly scroll down trying to find one of your favorite designs.

What I love most about Tailwind Create

1. It’s convenient. The option to use it is right in the side bar of my dashboard! All I need to do is fill in a few fields on the first page of Tailwind Create, choose a few designs, write text and assign boards, add to Loops and Communities and then schedule it!
2. It has educated me about the importance on branding and uniformity in terms of subject matter. Consistent designs, and fresh but similar posting to Pinterest is one of the keys to having success for Pinterest. A few years ago I learned at an inopportune time the importance of generating similar content and sticking to your niche.
3. Access to Stock Images– Everyone loves a good stock image. Especially if you’re not the one who enjoys taking photos, or need 1 to make something extra special. There are plenty of FREE stock images that I can choose from, and with a paid Tailwind plan, you have access to much more.

Social Media Copy Assistance

Tailwind has an AI assistance features called a CoPilot and Ghostwriter. These tools help you write stand out web copy for your content. Sometimes it can feel like you’re bogged down by the seemingly simple task of writing stand out copy, but with the Tailwind CoPilot and Ghostwriter credits, select a couple conditions for your post, add keywords that you want to be used in the post, and then generate something that is sure to pop!

There is also a section on your account’s home page that suggests a pattern/routine of what kinds of social media posts to share with your Followers and specific ideas of what to share such as sharing a behind the scenes moment or client testimonials.

You can also save Hashtag lists, and receive recommendations for competitive hashtags related to your content. There is real value in hashtags- and if you don’t believe me, check out my in-depth post about The Hashtag- Why is it Important?

Tailwind is Affordable

You can start your Tailwind journey with their Forever Free plan. You get great features but with a limited ‘budget.’ But when you upgrade to the next level (The Pro Plan), the access to those tools increases by five times the amount of the Forever Free!

Additionally, think back on what I was talking about when discussing Tailwind Create tool: A Vista Create subscription costs $199/year, Canva Pro costs $119. But if you buy the Tailwind Pro account, you get 200 designs/month, plus everything else included in the purchase. See the image below so you can see the a transparent overview of the services!
